Higher uptake of STEM subjects in single-sex girls schools – Fran Reddan

Following the release of the Alliances report on STEM subject uptake by girls in girls’ schools compared to girls in co-ed schools, principal of Mentone Girls Grammar, Fran Reddan, was interviewed by Radio 3AW.

Fran commented that the higher uptake in girls’ schools is due to the lack of barriers in girl’s schools, where students can do anything and are educated to have the confidence and self-belief to take on challenging subjects and topics.
