Loreto Kirribilli, founded on this site in 1908, is an Independent Catholic day school with an enrolment of approximately 1040 girls from Kindergarten to Year 12. The junior and senior schools are situated on the same campus, sharing many of the school’s excellent facilities. The core values at Loreto Kirribilli draw on the Ignatian spirituality of our foundress, Mary Ward, whose mission was built on the Gospels. As expressed in the Loreto School’s Mission Statement the school aims to liberate, empower and motivate students to use their individual gifts with confidence, creativity and generosity in loving and responsible service. Loreto Kirribilli is a comprehensive school where students can flourish academically in an environment in which the quality relationships are central. Complementing the academic dimension is a rich religious and liturgical program which nourishes the spiritual formation of our students. A vigorous belief in the capacity of women to contribute to society underpins our extensive student leadership and social justice programs. In pursuit of a balanced and holistic education our students are engaged in a vast array of extracurricular activities such as Sport, Duke of Edinburgh, Music, Debating and Public Speaking. We endeavour to give to future generations ‘wise, lovable and well educated young women’ (Mother Gonzaga Barry, 1900).
