Submit an application for the Global Action Research Collaborative – Pilot Program 2020-2021

APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED

The Alliance is pleased to announce the launch of the Global Action Research Collaborative pilot program in partnership with the National Coalition of Girls’ Schools (US), Girls’ Schools Association and Girls’ Day School Trust (UK), and other participating organisations. This exciting new initiative will involve a small pilot cohort of girls’ schools from around the world undertaking action research projects on the theme: ‘Feedback to move forward, thrive and grow’. Teachers participating in the pilot program will commence an 18-month program of training and action research in January 2020. Pilot program teachers will attend a training workshop in Philadelphia in June 2020 and present their research at the Global Forum III on Girls’ Education in Boston in June 2021.

Teachers from member schools are now invited to submit a proposal to undertake an action research project as part of the pilot program for 2020-2021. Applications close on October 20. This is a competitive process and the opportunity to represent the Alliance in the pilot program is limited to one pilot school from Australia and one pilot school from New Zealand. Applications will be considered by the Global Action Research Collaborative and applicants notified of the committee’s decision during the week of November 18.

The Alliance is pleased to advise that the National Coalition of Girls’ Schools (US) has generously offered to subsidise the travel, accommodation and conference registration costs of two Alliance pilot schools (one each from Australia and New Zealand).

NCGS support for pilot school participants:

  • $750 USD travel stipend towards travel to each of the two US conferences
  • The cost of hotel accommodation during both conferences
  • Waived conference registration fees for both conferences

Pilot schools will be responsible for:

  • All travel costs above and beyond the $750 USD stipend per conference
  • Pre- and post-conference hotel accommodation
  • All meals
  • Any other pre- and post-conference activities

Please read the Pilot Program Research Topic, Information for Applicants, and Training Schedule documents carefully before submitting your application.

Please note that applicants must be a current teacher at an Alliance member school in Australia or New Zealand who has a minimum of three years’ teaching experience at an all-girls school and will remain at their current school for the duration of the 18-month program. All applications must be fully supported by the applicant teacher’s current school Principal.
