St Ursula’s College is a Catholic educational and residential community in the Ursuline tradition dedicated to the education and care of young women. St Ursula’s College has been a community of learning since its establishment in 1931 in the picturesque mountain city of Toowoomba located in south east Queensland. The College now caters for students from Years 8 -12 but will be welcoming an additional cohort of Year 7 day and boarding students in 2015. The College endeavours to make life as home like as possible in the residential community where the girls can feel comfortable and grow in an atmosphere of respect for themselves and others. The Ursuline spirit continues to inspire an educational environment where there is unconditional recognition of the giftedness of each person. The College offers an exciting and innovative curriculum characterised by quality teaching and learning. All learning experiences are designed for a girl’s education where each student is challenged to give of her very best in an environment where her talents are recognised and affirmed. The curriculum offers a rich offering of subjects which allows each girl significant choice and flexibility as she plans a course of study appropriate to her needs, gifts and talents. Pastoral Care is a valued and important aspect of life at St Ursula’s. It allows for the integration of the academic, social and spiritual dimensions of the College with a focus on the development of quality relationships. Co-curricula offerings exist to further support the development of the whole person with a wide range of creative and fine arts, sport, service activities, debating and public speaking opportunities that allow each student to demonstrate their skills beyond the controlled learning environment into the realm of performance and competition. In recent years the growing links with Ursuline schools in Asia, America and England have helped to foster an important global awareness in students and staff as well as offering opportunities to participate in exchange programs and leadership camps.
