St Ursula’s College, established in 1957 by the Ursuline sisters, is a Catholic systemic girls’ secondary school within the Archdiocese of Sydney. The core values of the College are underpinned by the educational philosophy of their founder, St Angela Merici, who as a woman of vision and faithfulness saw the importance of educating women to be agents of change in society. The College motto “Serviam” (I will Serve), is the inspiration and motivation for the College’s identity and mission. It aims to be a place of education in which students, given their different backgrounds and abilities, grow in – love of learning and of life, and so contribute to the making of a world built on justice, peace, forgiveness and creative service. The College is committed to the evangelising mission of the Church and seeks to educate young women in the Catholic faith. Classroom Religious Education lessons, combined with prayer, spirituality activities and the Pastoral Care program, lead students to the knowledge of Jesus Christ and assist them in deepening their relationship with him. Staff and students have an opportunity to be involved in a variety of Social Justice Initiatives, Community Service and Outreach programs to support those less fortunate in the local and wider community. Student leadership is an important aspect of individual development. Opportunities abound for students to take up leadership positions across a broad spectrum of areas
