Santa Maria College is a catholic secondary school for girls founded by the Good samaritan Sisters in Northcote in 1904. Our vision is to cultivate strong compassionate and independent women who are critical thinkers. santa Maria College has a mission to nurture a search for truth a spirit of inquiry and deep love of learning guided by gospel values and an awareness of social justice. At santa we equip students to be part of a global learning community empowered with the skills and confidence to think independently. The College offers a rigorous academic program and offers the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program. The co-curricular program that harnesses independence and connections amongst our community include the Duke of Edinburgh Award sport music public speaking and debating. Our focus on global citizenship is supported with cultural immersion experiences in Central Australia Japan and Italy. Santa Maria College has excellent science facilities that promote and facilitate the inquiring mind. The College won a Schools First Local Impact Award to develop a science immersion program for young women.
