Loreto Normanhurst, a Catholic, independent boarding and day school for girls from Years 7-12, was established in 1897 by the Loreto Sisters (IBVM). It is one of seven Loreto schools in Australia. The school encourages the development of young women who will take their place in the world as leaders and people of commitment, inspired by gospel values. The school fosters a liberal education, with self-motivated learning and pursuit of personal excellence central to its teaching and learning philosophy. The Loreto Normanhurst Student Growth Model (LNSGM), a unique and innovative model of learning, focuses on holistic learning and growth, social justice issues, an understanding of local, national and global issues and an engagement with Church. It encourages leadership opportunities and pastoral care for all members of the school community. Students are encouraged to fulfill their personal and academic potential in an atmosphere of freedom, care and respect. The FACE Curriculum is integral to the LNSGM where growth in the areas of Faith, Academic, Community and extracurricular activities are monitored by regular conversations between students and their teachers. This meaningful connection between staff and students builds strong relationships.
