In January 2020, ten students and two staff from Alliance member schools embarked on an exciting journey to get a taste for university opportunities in the USA.
Beyond memorable travel experiences, the goal of the recent US College tour that was organised in partnership with Crimson Education was to give the students clarity about their future pathways.
We’re delighted to say this goal and more was achieved as the girls found themselves stepping foot on famous college campuses and connecting with the serenity and history of Yale, the innovative atmosphere of Stanford or the hustle and bustle of Columbia just to name a few.
The students and two Career Advisors peppered Crimson mentors from Harvard Medical School, UC Berkeley and Google with questions about their journey and future aspirations. Students visited leading businesses in Silicon Valley, New York and Los Angeles. In between the campus and company visits, students found plenty of time for exploring each destination ranging from the Statue of Liberty, Alcatraz Island and taking in a Broadway Show.
Looking ahead – December 2020
The next US College tour will be taking place in December 2020 with the applications now open and an application deadline of 19th April. We encourage you to share this unique opportunity with your school community.
There is a student scholarship available and it’s also an excellent professional development opportunity for school staff to join the tour in order to increase their knowledge of US university admissions.
