Melbourne Girls Grammar unveils new wellbeing centre

08 September 2017

Named after the mythical goddess who represents strength and good health – the centre enables the school to provide programs and resources that underpin their proactive approach to student wellbeing.

The Artemis Centre features: 25-metre multipurpose hydraulic swimming pool; Court spaces (“Team Zone”) for basketball, netball, badminton and volleyball; “Me Zones” for small groups and one-to-one wellbeing coaching; Learning Commons (learning, study and consultation spaces); Fitness Hub; Fitness Studio; Jumpstart Room for 3 to 14 year olds to explore movement and learn to take appropriate risks; Outdoor seated amphitheatre.

The school recruited a team of women from BVN Architects to design the Artemis Centre for girls. The space was designed in response to how they know girls like to live and learn together.

Melbourne Girls Grammar want every girl to feel confident in an environment in which she can be physically active.
