Three unique programs in science, educational enterprise and eLearning have resulted in Melbourne Girls Grammar being named an Innovative Schools Winner 2015 by Australia’s Educator magazine. The school nominated three programs individually but received the award for the combination of all three, with Educator magazine noting that the programs supported each other and “showcased the school’s focus on innovation across multiple aspects of curriculum and student learning”. The programs nominated by Melbourne Girls Grammar include:
- A junior school science program in which girls are engaged in challenging science experiments,
- the Centre for Educational Enterprise which develops best practice for educational ventures, and
- an eLearning program which integrates Twitter as a powerful learning tool and platform for students to communicate and collaborate
