10ctrzDomremy College Year 12 student, Odelia Sze-To, was awarded a scholarship from the Alliance of Girls’ Schools Australasia to attend the HASSE Space School, taking her one step closer to her dream of becoming an aeronautical engineer. The 86 strong group of students departed today for their Space School experience.

‘This scholarship has given me the opportunity to go on an adventure which I would never have had the chance to experience. Now I will be able to see, and participate in, the work behind the incredible human achievements at NASA,’ said Odelia.

‘The HASSE program offers knowledge and experience which I simply couldn’t get anywhere else, and will help enormously in the long run to achieve my career aspirations.

‘I didn’t think something like this would be possible in my lifetime, I can’t wait for this unforgettable journey,’ she said.

Worth more than $10,000 the Alliance of Girls’ Schools Australasia Senior Scholarship is awarded to one deserving student in each state who without this assistance would not have been able to participate in the program. The student must demonstrate a passion for a STEM career and study high levels of maths, science and or technology.

In addition the Alliance subsidises the cost for staff to accompany the junior and senior groups from each region.
