Over the last three years our education partner, Bond University, has invited principals from Alliance schools to join business leaders on a unique experience in a remote Indigenous community. Winner of the 2016 Queensland Premier’s Reconciliation Award, Yarning Up allows participants to extend their understanding of Indigenous culture, heritage and tradition, and to join in an open dialogue about the social issues and opportunities in remote areas.
This year Yarning Up will return to the Torres Strait Islands from Thursday 27 July – Tuesday 1 August. The details of the trip can be found in the program and a short video of last year’s experience can be viewed here.
This is a rare opportunity for professional development in a very different context. Places are limited; please send your expression of interest or any questions to Laura Harvey at Bond University (e) lharvey@bond.edu.au (t) 07 5595 1430’.
