Year 11 and 12 students with an interest in leadership are invited to the second Student Alliance Networking Group meeting at Strathcona Baptist Girls’ Grammar School.
This event will focus on:
- Project planning – how do you develop collaborative projects?
- How to support a not-for-profit with your project?
- How can you use social media to boost your initiative?
Students will hear from Jenni Screen, ex Olympic and Australian Women’s Team basketballer, mentor and strength and conditioning coach as well as Head of Technology and Innovation at Strathcona, Michelle Dennis
Jenni Screen
Jenni is an overachiever in all areas of her life and her worst critic. She is always seeking to learn and grow in this crazy world and sees every moment as an opportunity for development. After a professional basketball career spanning 16 years in multiple countries and with two Olympic Medals & a World Championship with the Australian Women’s Basketball Team, a team she captained in the latter part of her career, she now finds herself with two degrees. Currently, Jenni is working in Sports Science as a Strength & Conditioning Coach, a Teacher at Deakin University and a Mentor in various organisations focusing on Leadership, Identity & Culture. Jenni is driven & passionate about helping people to reach their potential in their chosen endeavours. She is always up for a good laugh or cry. Loves a good debate, and her Great Dane is the apple of her eye.
Michelle Dennis
Head of Technology and Innovation at Strathcona Baptist Girls Grammar School | VCAA Examination Assessor and teacher of Information Technology Pre – 10, VCE and VET Interactive Media.
Michelle is a VCAA Examination Assessor and teacher of Information Technology Pre – 10, VCE and VET Interactive Media. Her VCE VET Interactive Digital Media students have received Premier’s Awards in 2015 and 2016 and six of her students were selected for the VCAA Season of Excellence. While Michelle is interested in the ‘tech’ side of technology, her passion is in how to assist teachers in the utilisation of technology in order to enrich deep learning experiences. She has a successful record of working with teachers to develop their skills in using technology as pedagogical tool in various subject areas. She holds a Master of Education, Cert 1V in Training and Assessment, Bachelor of Education, Grad Dip Ed and Bachelor of Computer Science. She is very well-known in the tech-ed community.
