Join educators from Alliance member schools for our twilight networking evening at Brisbane Girls Grammar School to explore how to inspire wonder and awe in the classroom.
In this presentation, we learn how scientific contemplation and enquiry about the universe, sparks curiosity and a deep interest in the natural world that carries over into the all disciplines, from science to the arts.
Ms Gerri Bernard, from the Science Faculty at Brisbane Girls Grammar School, will lead an interactive presentation, showcasing how their new Dorothy Hill Observatory and its telescopes are being applied in the science classroom to excite and inspire students.
She will discuss how the philosophy of ‘wonder and awe’, which is deliberately woven into their teaching, makes a difference to the students’ interest and passion for science, not just the telescopic equipment itself.
Refreshments will be served.
