St Margaret’s Anglican Girls’ School, a school of The Society of the Sacred Advent Schools Pty Ltd since 1895, is an independent School for day students and boarders currently with 880 students from Pre-Preparatory to Year 12. There are approximately 320 girls in Primary School and 560 in Secondary School. Boarding has been an integral part of the School's life and 170 girls from Years 8 - 12 are accommodated at St Margaret’s. As a member of the Queensland Girls’ Secondary Schools Sports Association Inc (QGSSSA) and the Brisbane Schools Rowing Association, St Margaret’s achieves at high levels in a range of academic, sporting and cultural competitions and events. The academic results of Year 12 students are consistently above the State average, with a high proportion of students gaining OPs 1-15 (85% in 2008). The Schools NAPLAN results also bear testament to the high achievement level of students in Years 3,5,7 and 9. The School values are courage, faith, integrity, passion, respect and spirit, with the School motto Per Volar Sonata (Born to Fly Upwards) inspiring St Margaret’s students to achieve their personal best in all endeavours.
