Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School, including the co-educational Ipswich Junior Grammar School, is one of the eight original Queensland Grammar Schools, a unique body of schools in Australia. The School provides independent, non-denominational education for girls and boys from Pre-Prep to Year 4 and girls only in Years 5 to 12 with boarding from Year 7. With a vision of redefining excellence in education, the School holds long established traditional values of diligence, excellence, respect, cooperation and teamwork, care and compassion, justice, and integrity. Over the past 117 years the School has played a significant role in the education of young women who have pursued careers in areas such as health, science, law, engineering, information technology and politics. The highly-qualified teachers, comprehensive curriculum and state-of- the-art resources help students achieve their individual best in all aspects of their education. With smaller classes, emphasis on staff/student relationships and age-appropriate life skills programs, the School's approach to pastoral care helps to build confidence, resilience and self-esteem. The School offers more than 50 co-curricular activities to develop students' interests and skills in sport, the arts, creative hobbies and intellectual pursuits.
