Roma Mitchell Secondary College attracts girls from across the metropolitan area and offers a broad academic and vocational curriculum within a small and caring environment. Nearly 50 per cent of our students have a language other than English. Many have been in Australia for less than two years. Despite their recent arrival, we encourage them to take part in the National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy so that we can use this data to support their learning in the senior school. In 2008, approximately 90 per cent of Year 12 students completed their South Australian Certificate of Education, with about 85 per cent receiving a 'C' grade or better. About 75 per cent went on to study at either TAFE or university and about 95 per cent received their first preference course. The courses included science, IT, finance, community services, media and children's services. We are also committed to ensuring that our students have access to the best resources and understand that they should have high aspirations which they can use to help them build a bright future for themselves.
