As a school, we value learning, initiative, endeavour, achievement, responsibility integrity, respect, creativity, spirituality, flexibility and diversity. Founded in the Anglican tradition, Firbank was established in 1909 as a day and boarding school for girls. The Senior School and our girls only Junior School are located in Brighton while Sandringham House offers a co-educational primary education. The Boarding House welcomes students from rural areas and overseas. All students are encouraged to discover and develop their individual talents and interests. There is an emphasis on diversity of offering in both the academic curriculum and co-curriculum programs. At all levels, the curriculum places a strong emphasis on the key areas of literacy and numeracy. Our Junior Schools teach the Primary Years Program of the International Baccalaureate. The School has a Sustainability Policy. Our aim is to educate, raise awareness and be proactive in developing and implementing sustainable programs and projects which involve all stakeholders. Firbank has a strong record in understanding the potential of applying technology to enhance students' learning. A tangible expression of this commitment is the fact that all classrooms, from ELC to Year 12 are equipped with interactive whiteboards.
