Domremy College, named after the birthplace of St Joan of Arc, was established by the Presentation Sisters in 1911. The College motto, 'La Verite` is emphasised in the Mission Statement, as are justice, independence, integrity, and the dignity of the human person. The College is working collaboratively with the University of Southern Queensland on the IDEAS project and having developed our vision statement, 'Let the Light shine true....' we are now developing our school-wide pedagogy. The student population is multicultural, coming from about 45 different cultures and this has grown considerably over the last 10 years. Some unique features of the College are our excellent HSC results, our catering for a very diverse range of learners and the strength of our student behaviour management plan that is based on a Restorative Justice Framework. The College plays an important role in the community in its liaison with local parishes and its involvement with local Council events and community groups.
